13th International Congress of Orthopterology
Agadir, Morocco, March 2019

Dear Orthopterists,
We are pleased to invite you to Agadir, Morocco for the 13 th International Congress of the Orthopterists´ Society. The meeting will be held from 24 to 28 March 2019, in the Hotel « Palais des Roses ».
The 13 th International Congress of Orthopterology will take place for the first time in Africa in Agadir (Morocco) under the theme “Challenges in front of Climatic and Environmental Changes”. The Congress is organized by the IBN ZOHR University of Agadir in collaboration with the National Center for Locust Control of Morocco.

Important Dates:

➀ Deadline for Abstracts submissions: October, 31th 2018
➁ Notification of Abstract acceptance: November, 15th 2018
➂ Reduced fees have to be paid before November, 30th 2018 (end of preferential fees)

The 13th International Congress on Orthopterology is an interdisciplinary platform for the presentation of new advances and research results in all aspects of Orthopterology. The preparation of the Congress has already planned 5 keynote lectures and 11 symposiums with speakers from all around the world (see scientific program). In addition, scientists and students are kindly invited to contribute to the Congress through submissions of their research abstracts, to present oral presentations or posters. High quality research contributions describing original and unpublished results of conceptual, constructive, empirical, experimental, or theoretical work in the fields of Orthopterology are cordially invited for presentation at the congress.

We are pleased to invite you to submit original contributions to ICO 2019 by 30 September 2018. All submissions will be peer-reviewed on the basis of relevance, originality, importance and clarity.

Submissions Guidelines for Abstracts

All abstracts should be in DOC or ODT format, and submitted electronically. Abstracts should be prepared using the joined template (see joined file) (11-point font Calibri, title in bold, text in two-columns). Keep the layout of the text as simple as possible. Please include up to 7 keywords, complete postal and e-mail address of the presenting author should be given. Figures are allowed as long as they really improve the message of the abstract and do not pass 1 column in width.
Accepted abstracts will appear in the Metaleptea special issue as the ICO 2019 Proceedings.

Oral Presentation Guidelines

Presentation consists of a 10-minute oral presentation, followed by a 5-minute discussion (time also includes all necessary preparation). Please save your Powerpoint presentation on the laptop that will be placed in the conference rooms at the beginning of each session (Presenters’ own laptops will not be allowed). Oral communications will be either in French or English; however the Powerpoint slides must be only in English. Please bring your presentation files (.PDF, .PPT, .PPTX and .ODP format) on an USB memory stick or CD-ROM to the session room during break well before the session of your presentation. Be in the session room 5 minutes before the beginning of your session and introduce yourself to the Session Chair. Each conference room will be equipped with a laptop, screen, data projector and sound system.
