Evolution, diversification, and biogeography of Orthoptera

Organizer: Hojun Song

Orthoptera is the most diverse order within Polyneoptera with more than 28,000 species known worldwide. Throughout its 300 million years of diversification, many different orthopteran lineages have gone through unique and distinct evolutionary trajectories in terms of their biology, ecology, life history traits, and biogeography.

This symposium will highlight unique evolutionary stories of Orthoptera by bringing in experts in comparative phylogenetics and ecology and evolutionary biology.
